PERITONEUM
Peritoneal carcinomatosis is hard to treat with conventional systemic chemotherapy. PIPAC, Pressurized IntraPeritoneal Aerosol Chemiotherapy, allows a better distribution and peritoneal penetration of chemotherapeutic agents in cases of advanced gynecologic (ovarian) and gastrointestinal (colon and stomach) cancers as well as for mesotheliomas. Laparoscopic PIPAC is a mini-invasive surgical procedure lasting about 60 minutes, and is well tolerated by most of the patients. Hospital stay is on average of 2 days.
